Who we are

Welcome to Pink for the Soul

My name is Karla Antunez, and I’m the artist behind this space. I was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where my love for art took root at an early age. I was that kid who loved drawing so much, classmates would ask me to do their school projects—though our teachers always knew who was really behind the work.

I studied architecture at Rafael Urdaneta University, where my passion for design deepened. In 2013, I moved to the United States, and that chapter marked a turning point in my artistic journey. It was during this time that I was introduced to the tattoo industry by Johan Avila, owner of Ink for the Soul. As both a mentor and skilled artist, Johan played a key role in teaching me the fundamentals and encouraging me to develop my own voice in tattooing.

In January 2019, I decided to fully commit to tattooing and haven’t looked back. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to constant learning, refining my technique, and creating pieces that speak to my clients’ stories and identities. Pink for the Soul is the result of that journey—a space where creativity, meaning, and connection come to life through ink.

I’m Luisa with Ink du Arte and this is my story..

I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and raised in a small town named Mene Grande, where I first fell in love with drawing as a kid. Art always felt natural to me, but it wasn’t until high school—after moving to the U.S.—that I truly reconnected with it through daily art classes. Around the same time, I started getting my first small tattoos, and something about the process instantly clicked. It was more than just an interest, it felt like something I was meant to be part of.

For a while, I explored other paths, trying to find something that felt right. But no matter where life took me, I kept coming back to tattoos. The work of Karla, now my mentor, inspired me deeply. In 2024, I reached out to her, hoping to learn. She didn’t make it easy, but she believed in commitment and told me to prove mine. So I did.

Since then, I’ve dedicated myself fully to this craft. From learning the basics and building my portfolio, to launching Ink du Arte, this journey has been shaped by persistence, creativity, and the support of people who saw my potential. I now work under Karla’s guidance at Pink for the Soul, focusing on fine-line tattoos that feel delicate, personal, and timeless.

My focus is on intentional designs and my ability to create a calm, welcoming space where clients feel seen and heard. I’m most proud of building a connection with each person I tattoo, I believe more than visual, my art is emotional and personal.
